You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. In other words, it’s hard to learn new stuff as you get older. Usually, if I learn something new, it’ll push other things out of my brain. One thing immune to this phenomenon, is the part of my brain that stores TV ad jingles from the late seventies to early eighties. That particular lobe is protected from deletion, like a music cassette with the little plastic tab punched out. They’re all there, from Kia Ora to Um Bongo, proving how effective and persistent a good ad jingle can be. Like ear worms that span the decades, here’s three that’ll follow me to the grave.
