Putting trust in our people

By Dan Appleby, Managing Director

We’re delighted to share the news that Drummond Central has become an employee-owned business. We turn 19 this year and in the past our founders, Julie and Stephen, have had several approaches to sell the agency, but it never felt like the right thing to do. They have no plans to leave the business and didn’t want to risk losing our independent culture, something which often happens in a traditional sale.

They also believe that Drummond Central is about more than just the two of them. Everyone here has worked really hard to build the business, and we’re incredibly proud of the effective work we produce for our clients and of the culture that we’ve managed to establish.

Julie commented, “When we explored what employee ownership meant for us as founders and for the people who have been a part of our success, it just clicked and felt right. We couldn’t think of any better people to be responsible for the future of the agency than the people who’ve helped us get to this point.”

Becoming an employee-owned business shows our commitment to our brilliant people and our lovely clients. We’ve established an employee ownership trust which now owns 100% of the business for the benefit of all staff equally, and will ensure that we run in a way that protects the agency and our people.

We’ve come a long way in the last few years, but this is just the start. We all have big ambitions and are very excited about the next chapter. It’s a great time to be a part of Drummond Central.

Big thanks to our friends at Womble Bond DickinsonRobson Laidler and KPMG for all of their advice, support and guidance over the last few months.
