When Ouseburn Farm found out its funding would be cut, we stepped in to part-fund its deficit for three years. But they were still in need of critical funding to carry on their amazing work and needed a further £20,000. Ouseburn Farm is a brilliant local charity, supporting hundreds of disadvantaged and vulnerable people. We couldn’t let it close.

We knew that the people of the North East are some of the most generous in the country, with one of the most impressive rates of charity volunteering. We also knew that Crowdfunder would be the best platform to build our campaign on. We leveraged people’s desire to help, and pulled on the heart strings of a region via a powerful, emotive campaign that made people sit up and listen. Our ‘Support your Farm, Support your Community’ campaign delivered this across all channels.
What we delivered
A social strategy and content that harnessed the strong charitable ethic of the people of the North East, and inspired them to get behind our crowdfunded campaign. Our in-house production team shot a promotional video at the Farm, while our creative team developed supporting assets to run across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We developed a suite of awards for those people who pledged support through the Crowdfunder platform; this included feeding the animals and behind the scenes tours. Our fully integrated campaign aimed to raise awareness of the brilliant work Ouseburn Farm does, and direct traffic to its Crowdfunder page.
Our campaign helped Ouseburn Farm from initial closure. We raised £34,000 in just 28 days – 170% of the required funds. Facebook page likes rose 470% and Twitter content received 84,400 impressions. Ouseburn Farm also experienced a huge increase in footfall, and our campaign was awarded Best CSR Campaign at the 2017 Northern Marketing Awards. We continue to support Ouseburn Farm in its brand strategy, on-site signage and promotional materials. The charity relies solely on donations to survive and there’s still a long way to go to make them completely sustainable.
