Greggs are opening in one of their most exciting locations yet – No.1 Leicester Square. The iconic London site is the hub of all things showbiz and cinema, attracting locals and tourists alike, and is now set to become a hotspot for grabbing tasty bakes.
Whilst the shop is being built, Greggs wanted to create a bit of a buzz and give a hint of what’s to come. The not so subtle result is quickly becoming as famous as Leicester Square itself.
By making use of the hoardings around the site, we recreated the iconic Greggs bag, complete with a giant Steak Bake popping out the top. The bespoke hoarding was designed to stand out in one of the busiest locations in London, whetting thousands of appetites for proper flakey goodness, and raising a smile in the process.
And as we’re sticklers for detail, we couldn’t let a giant Greggs bag out the door without checking the smallprint. The usual ‘caution’ small print that appears on any Greggs packaging was given a cheeky update, whilst the construction site entrance was given its own VIP signage too.
The massive Steak Bake has done its job, with the store opening being covered in TimeOut, The Daily Mirror and The Daily Mail, as well as generating loads of likes, retweets, and shares online.
