Takin’ care of Syria
The ‘One Good Deed Committee’ is a group of individuals from the North East who’ve created a movement in response to the situation in Aleppo.
They’ve worked relentlessly to heighten regional recognition of the cause and their first fundraising initiative came to fruition last night, at a very special event at Wylam Brewery. They raised over £30,000 (with donations still flooding in) for the International Red Cross, who works tirelessly to help families across Syria. We want to congratulate them on a hugely successful night.
Never underestimate a group of Northerners who want to be a force for good in the world. So many fantastic people in our region got on board, and offered their services as well as auction and raffle prizes for free. The raffle raised a staggering £2,500 alone and bids were even coming in from as far afield as the US.
Behind the scenes, Drummond Central worked closely with the committee to come up with a name for the movement, which is ‘Something for Syria’ and the strapline, ‘One good deed leads to another and another’. Once the brand identity had been created, we designed all creative collateral for the night of the event too.
It just goes to show that if we all do something, do our bit, we can actually change lives and help our fellow human beings.
We’d like to say a big thanks to the One Good Deed Committee for inviting Drummond Central to be part of this great change – it’s been a pleasure to do our bit for one of the biggest humanitarian crises of our time.
