What’s going on with Twitter? Amid rumours of the company seeking and failing to find a buyer, stock has plummeted hard. Now it’s been revealed that Weibo – a Chinese Twitter clone launched in 2009 – is actually worth more than Twitter itself. It’s often said that despite 300m monthly active users, Twitter has an identity crisis. CEO Jack Dorsey recently announced something of a mission statement, calling Twitter, the ‘people’s news network’. The platform has always leaned toward the media side of social media, but will this direction improve Twitter’s fortunes?
