This year we’re packing our calendar full of unmissable challenges to raise money for the UK Sepsis Trust. We’ve already raised £57K in the fight – through movie nights, quizzes, bake-offs, running (a lot of running), and much more. This year we’re doubling down and taking a shot at £100K. Ambitious? Damn right.
Introducing, DC Versus. It’s for the people who’ve lost their lives, and their families. For research, awareness, and support. And of course for our Jess, who we sadly lost in 2017.
We’re kicking this off with our very own designer Lee Peacock bravely committing to a tattoo, designed by one lucky friend. We’ll also be cycling Coast to Coast, conquering the Three Peaks, and showing Allendale who’s boss. Whatever we do, we’ll be putting our DC heart into it, all in the name of raising money for sepsis.
Sepsis accounts for at least 8 million deaths worldwide each year, taking more lives than bowel, breast and prostate cancer combined. If you would like to support, donate, or read more about Jess’ story, visit our Just Giving page.
We’ve got more exciting events coming up:
- A not-so-refreshing dip at the Great North Swim
- Cut-throat quizzes (we’re a competitive bunch)
- The full throttle Great North Run
- An impressive 24 hour gameathon – sore thumbs anyone?
- Going the extra mile (or 26.2 to be exact) in the Kielder Marathon
Got a challenge you think we should verse? Send your suggestions to [email protected].
We miss Jess very much, and this is our way of making sure her memory lives on. It’s time to step up for sepsis.
