And since 2016, it’s a message that’s been delivered by the Zinsser Twins, a couple of no-nonsense characters from the East End who enjoyed sorting the nation’s decorating dilemmas. They hit the sweet spot in the UK, but what happens in an expanding market, when Zinsser needs to talk to countries where loveable gangsters might not resonate? It would have to be something that would work in a range of different cultures, yet deliver a consistent brand message across Zinsser’s core European market.

Working with Zinsser, we created a legendary new creative platform that provides consistency across Europe, puts a face to the brand and builds on its 173-year-old heritage. A guy who’s completely unfazed by the world’s worst decorating problems – he’s seen it all and painted over it. He’s a fluent device that travels well – a wise old man, an advisor, a sage – a trope that will resonate wherever he goes. And like the paint, he’s an old friend you can rely on to get the job done. He’s got a pretty awesome beard too.
